Here’s another timeless gem from Jim Croce.

I I remember I sang this tune on the night I opened up for Chris Difford (of Squeeze fame) on the Isle of Man, I guess I must have been 16 ish. It was the night I met local studio owner, Dave Armstrong - which led to pretty much everything kicking off for me.

I love how honest thing song is. I can definitely relate to a lot of these words. There have definitely been plenty of times I have called home feeling like this, not necessarily always asking for financial help, but certainly feeling like i’ve failed. I’m lucky to have never slept in a hotel doorway like the chap in the song!

Despite the subject, it’s just love how Jim Croce kept this song so playful!
