Club Q Update #90 - Cowboy Clapton is my favourite Clapton

In my humble opinion, to call Eric Clapton purely a bluesman is to do him a disservice.

His life and career and been so diverse. He changed the way we all think about electric guitar, improvisation and tones, the ditched it all to play soft rock/pop songs like Wonderful Tonight, or this absolute masterpiece.

Cowboy era Clapton is my favourite. Great songs, and you can hear the pain and anguish in his voice. Albums like Slowhand or No Reason To Cry…

There’s a Clapton for every taste I think. He’s been a helluva chameleon.
