Guilty Pleasures -#1 - a wave of nostalgia

I listen to all sorts of music, not just big guitar bluesy rock (although I love that too!), so I thought i’d start sharing some of the songs and artists that you may not expect (as well as some you may!).

Recently I was driving around and got hit by a pang of nostalgia as my iPhone shuffled its way into the cobwebs of my Apple Music library and this absolute GEM of a pop song came on. My dad loved Mike + The Mechanics, and the cassette tape ‘Hits’ was always lurking within easy reach.

I adore Paul Carrack’s voice, and love his work with Ace in the 70s too. Dad took me to see him when we came to the Isle of Man, and he was spectacular live. He’s playing in Clapton’s band now, and really goes down as one of those massively underrated artists who has somehow managed to keep a low profile while seemingly achieving everything!
