Forums & backdoorslam.com

Howdy all! Just a quick message for those of you who regularly visit backdoorslam.com or the BDS forums. I’m guessing that, if you didn’t get the mail list warning the other day, you’ll be feeling a little disorientated right now? That’s because we’ve switched the URL ‘backdoorslam.com’ to point directly to this website, ‘davyknowles.com’, in an attempt to make everyone’s surfing lives a little bit easier! So now you only need to visit one website to get all the lowdown on Davy and the band (well, this, and the myspaces of course…)
For all you forum users out there, the link to the BDS forums (http://backdoorslam.proboards.com/index.cgi) is now on the ‘About Davy’ page.
Hopefully this will make everyone’s lives a little easier, and reduce any virtual confusion. You can still watch all the existing BDS videos by visiting the youtube site (Youtube.com/backdoorslamofficial).
Thanks for your patience with this! ![]()

I wasn’t familiar with Davy until this past weekend when he played the Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival in Annapolis, Maryland. It won’t be long before Davy is a headliner! This kid rocks! Thanks Davy for a great show and we’ll see you at Hot August Blues at Oregon Ridge!

Trying to hook you up with Indy Jazz Fest in September. Met you in Boston at HOB, awesome accoustic Jeff Beck warm up. See you soon in Fort Wayne at Rib/Blues Festival, then two evenings later in Indy at Birdy’s. Leave that accoustic in the case this time, mate! Coming Up is excellent. Can’t wait to see you in Hoosierland! Cheers.

I’m disappointed that Davy Knowles will not be playing at the Montreal Jazz Festival, what gives?

note to bema - if you click on the iTunes USA link on the homepage, and choose ‘change store’ when that option pops up, you should be able to download the albums. but i’m not sure what other consequences that might have on your iTunes?!
otherwise, we have a Europe distributor on the case now so should be available in your area soon…
hope that helps a bit!

Davy,
I know you’re extremely busy and probably will never respond to this, but I have to tell you my new fave Davy Knowles story.
I saw you 3 nights in a row…1st in Atlanta at the Virginia Highlands Summerfest and twice in Chattanooga at Riverbend. I was thge guy that you asked at the “Bridge” show before the gig “Can’t you get enough?”
Anyway, I was down in front at your 2nd show at the Bessie Smith stage, you were about halfway thru your set (it was an amazing show) and there was this bald black gentleman asking me who you were and after I told him some info about you, I noticed he was shouting “Davy, you BAD! Kid you BAD!!” My friend and I thought that was cool because of the wide range of audience you are connecting with and funny too.
Later in the set he rushed the stage and was yelling to you “Davy where can I get your CD! I got to go to work! I need to buy your CD!” You were between songs and looking down at your set list and I’m not even sure you heard him, but your bass player PK did and signaled for him to go around to the side of the stage to make his purchase. My friend Robbie and I laughed hysterically.
About 3 or 4 songs later I was checking out the audience behing me and lo and behold, there was that same gentleman waving his newly purchased CD at me and bobbing his head to your music! I guess he decide to blow off work totally!! We thought that was absolutely hilarious and I had to tell you about it! I guess (no, I KNOW) your music is so good people are willing to risk their job to hear more!!!
Best of luck with your continued success.
Huge fan from Atlanta,
