Davy in space,5am queues & new shows!!

It’s been a heckuva week for our boy Davy Knowles. On the same day it was announced that he was returning to the Isle of Man to play a gig (and also playing his first at London’s Borderline..and heading to Oz…!), he was pre-occupied entertaining astronauts in Space…

Davy had been invited by fellow Manxman Chris Stott, who’s wife Nicole is one of the astronauts currently conducting a series of experiments at the Space Station. She’s a big fan of the band, having been introduced to them by Chris, so Davy had a chat with her and played ‘Roll Away’ - all over an iPhone!

We think Davy is only the 2nd musician ever to play from Mission Control itself - the other being Jimmy Buffet - so this is huge for him and the band. You can watch a video of his experience here:

Also last week, Peter Frampton uploaded the first part of the interview he and Davy recorded shortly before finishing work on ‘Coming Up For Air’ - it’s great fun, the two of them get on so well! You can see that on Peter’s myspace here:

AND to really ice that cake, the Isle of Man tickets went on sale on Saturday morning - and 750 of them were sold in under 2hours! There was a queue building outside the box office from 5am.. wow. There are still a few seats left so if you want to witness this special event, best get in quick! Booking office number is (01624) 600555. The Borderline in London is also a really small venue, so if you plan on attending that gig, it’s worth getting your tickets as soon as possible - they’re already selling well

Speaking of tickets, we’ve just confirmed a load more dates across the USA, right up to 2010! They include a special PRS benefit gig for the John Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Centre in Baltimore on Oct 4th, and a New Year’s Eve party at World Cafe PA… all will be posted here shortly, but you can see the full list in the ‘Notes’ section on Davy facebook fanpage
